  Token of Obedience and Acceptance as the Real God Christianity, Life | (0)

  Reading Jeremiah 27 I wondered what was the purpose of God telling all those kings to obey and surrender to Nebuchadnezzar – king of Babylon. In verses from 7 to 11 we read:

  7 And all nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the [God-appointed] time [of punishment] of his own land comes; and then many nations and great kings shall make him their slave.

  8 But any nation or kingdom that will not serve this same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, says the Lord, with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, until I have consumed it by [Nebuchadnezzar's] hand.

  9 So do not listen to your [false] prophets, your diviners, your dreamers [and your dreams, whether your own or others'], your soothsayers, your sorcerers, who say to you, You shall not serve the king of Babylon.

  10 For they prophesy a lie to you which will cause you to be removed far from your land; and I will drive you out, and you will perish.

  11 But any nation that brings its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serves him, that nation will I let remain on its own land, says the Lord, to cultivate it and dwell in it.

  Jeremiah 27:7-11

  God want to show His power and that His word is true. Everything that God sais will happen. So what? Well, this means that God is the onlyand the highest authority. He is the ultimate divinity and only he deserves our worship.

  All those people (see verse 3) had their imaginary gods and false prophets. All those prophets were saing that everything will be good and that they will not have to serve the king of Babylon. God want’s to proove them wrong, to show that all those gods are nothing. God deserves our respect and worship and He asks this from us.

  Blogosfera evanghelica – Mesaj catre bloggerii evanghelici Christianity, romana | (0)

  În 31 ianuarie 2009 va avea loc editia a II-a a Premiilor Thymos pentru bloguri evanghelice (50 de premii). Cei care doriti puteti prelua afisul care anunta evenimentul sau, daca vreti sa prezentati informatii scrise despre eveniment (cu sau fara diacritice), vi le pot trimite prin email sau Messenger (alinpm).

  Dispun de adrese email doar pentru circa jumatate dintre cele 540 de bloguri evanghelice. Am trimis mesaj la aceste adrese, dar afisez aici un mesaj general catre bloggerii evanghelici cu speranta ca ma veti ajuta sa actualizez informatiile INCOMPLETE pe care le-am adunat de mai bine de un an de cînd monitorizez blogosfera evanghelica:

  - 540 de bloguri (urmeaza sa sterg vreo 10 care nu mai exista si sa adaug înca 10 pe care mi le-am notat)

  Now we have new possibilities in Christ. We have a great gain from His death and resurrection.

  In psalm 84:10 we read the following:

  For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else];
  I would rather be a doorkeeper
  and stand at the threshold in the house of my God
  than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

  Why do the sons of Korah say this? Because at the temple was the place where God was present. There was the place where the people could meet with God. The sons of Korah loved so much God (at this time) that they wanted to be in His presence all the time. When you love somebody yo want to spend as much time with him or her. The same happens when you love God… you want to be with Him, to talk with God in prayer, to be in His presence.

  So where is the gain in our times? Please read what Jesus said in John 4:21:

  Jesus said to her,
  Woman, believe Me,
  a time is coming when you will worship the Father
  neither [merely] in this mountain nor [merely] in Jerusalem [at the temple].

  and in John 4:23 it says

  A time will come, however,
  indeed it is already here,
  when the true (genuine) worshipers
  will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality);
  for the Father is seeking just such people
  as these as His worshipers.

  So what is with all this? The great gain is that we can worship God everywhere we are. The thing is to have the right attitude towards God, to live in the Spirit and to do His deeds.

  So, today we can experience God anywhere and have the same joy that the sons of Korah had when they stand at the threshold in the house of God.
