I would like to have the life of David. Not necessary to be glorious, but to get to know God at least as David did. David trusted the Lord in the details of his life. I can not say that in every tiny one, because the Bible does not say about every second of his life. But we can learn from David’s victories. Those victories were because David trusted God . David had certainty in God’s Power. This happened because David followed God’s plan for him .
From David’s speech we can learn about how he trusted the Lord and his relationship with God. It was a day by day walk.
45 Then said David to the Philistine,
You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin,
but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts,
the God of the ranks of Israel,
Whom you have defied.46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand,
and I will smite you and cut off your head.
And I will give the corpses of the army of the Philistines this day
to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth,
that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.47 And all this assembly shall know
that the Lord saves not with sword and spear;
for the battle is the Lord’s,
and He will give you into our hands.1 Samuel 17:45-47
David’s victory against Goliath had a purpose in itself. The motivation was that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel .
What I learn is that the motivation and trust worths big time . I would like to live like that, trusting in the Lord, having a certainty in God’s power. And I want to have the right motivation all the time. I want to do things because God wants, to glorify His name and everyone to get to know Him because my everyday life .
