Bible passage

(31) He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. (32) He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. (33) But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” (34) Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (35) For whoever wants to save his life (soul) will lose it, but whoever loses his life (soul) for me and for the gospel will save it. (36) What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit (looses) his soul? (37) Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? (38) If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation (world), the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” Mark 8:31-38

I have a human way of seeing thing, we all do. We are just like Peter. We see a lot of thing in life as not good, because we do not feel good about them in the first place. We are too short minded. We see how things in life will affect us on a short therm. And more that that, we have a human perspective. How does a city look from the street level, and how does it look from they sky. When we have a perspective from up, from the sky we can see it all much clearer, and we can zoom in and out with no problem.

I see this denial of ourself as a letting go of the human perspective on things. Not just the so called bad things that happen to us, but of the whole spectrum of life. And so, the whole purpose of life, if there was any before, changes into something magnificent a indeed true. I pray so that I could see how God sees me, my life, what happens around me.

The cross that is talked in here, I see it as all the circumstances that come from a different point of view upon life. I mean after this there comes a number of responsibilities. If I see it differently I should behave differently, apply it to the core of my being, not just at the surface. The so called bad things will still happen to us. They will scratch us, and then it will be seen how deep the denial and the cross carrying got into me and you.

Some may say: “Are you crazy? How can you act like that? You are a fool, you will loose!” God asks us to be crazy for Him, to be 110% dependent on Him. Because “For whoever wants to save his life (soul) will lose it, but whoever loses his life (soul) for me and for the gospel will save it.” What life is? It’s a time of 60, 70 maybe 120 years. That is the real life? Eternity with the all mighty God. It is like choosing from 1 penny and the whole universe. I choose God. It is the most smart thing to do. You can not just choose Him and nothing to change in your life. You can say it just with your lips but not with your whole being. Act upon what you say so that the seed planted in me and you shall become a great fruit giving three.

I would like not to miss one more essensial thing. I mean not to be ashamed with my Lord. We can choose Him, but to try to do thing by ourself. Not to let God really rule in me. And more than that not to let others know who’s my King.
